Did the USA or the USSR start the Cold War? Please give three reasons to support your answer. You need to show evidence from both point of views.

I believe that the USA is to blame for the start of the Cold War. I believe this because, the USA would not help the USSR when it was in bad times, and was in great need of help. One example from the homework sheet would be in the 1920's. The USSR people were starving, and the USA would not lend a helping hand, and help them rebuild destroyed houses and land after World world 1 and the Russian Revolution. Due to the USA not helping the USSR when they were in dire need for help, they were mad with the USA, especially because they were allies. Another example would be in 1944-1945, when US raced to Europe to conquer and occupy land, only so that USSR could not get the resources it needed to rebuild everything within there country. The USSR did not like that the USA was trying to conquer land, and not only take it form the USSR, but make it democratic and take its natural resources. A third reason would be, in 1945. During the 1945 time period, the USA was constructing a atomic bomb to sue at war. The USA did not tell there allied force, USSR, about this plan. The USA took it upon themselves to create a mass weapon to be used in battle, without the help of the USSR. The USSR find out about the atomic bomb, and cut off trading routes from the US to troops stationed in Germany. As well as cutting off trade routes, the USSR began planning on how to construct nuclear weapons of there own. With the USA destroying the USSR, by not helping them when they were in need, and also making a mass weapon, without the USSR having insight of there knowledge. That's why i believe that the USA triggered USSR multiple times, enough to be the cause of the Cold War.
The USSR started the Cold War: - The United States wanted no part of WWII to begin with. - The USSR wanted to spread communism throughout Europe. - The Soviet Union needed materials from all over Eastern Europe, they stole materials from them. - They were very strict with all of their policies.
Although the United States wanted to spread democracy as well, communism is much more harsh and less lenient. The only reason the United States were planning an attack on Soviet Russia is because of their radical will to spread communism. The United States opposes communism so much because so many people fear for their lives and are completely miserable under communist rule.

We were forced to fight the japanese alone. 2.1945-1948 the US has a problem of the USSR's tactics of fixing its economy. We dont believe its right to steal from other peoples countries. They have a huge percentage of land in Europe so they should be able to fix there own economy without thievery. 3.1945-1954 US is unhappy with USSR's random help for another nations to spread comunnism.We believe in democracy and not the spread of communism. 4.1948 USSR sets up a blockade that prevents US's military aid which enrages us. I think the US also had a fault for causing The Cold War. 1.1920's after the russian revolution and WWI the US refused to help USSR rebulid itself. This upset the USSR because the US doesnt care about the USSR's problems. 2.US didnot help the USSR in 1941 when it was invaded by Germany. We shouldve helped because this plays an important argument for why we hate each other so much. 3.In 1945 when we discovered the nuclear bomb we kept the secret to ourself which upset the USSR. Im glad we did this because god forbid we had problems with them the couldve used it against us because you cant trust anyone. 4.In 1945 the US was planning a nuclear attack on Russia. This upset them because they didnot believe we would betray them like that

Also, In 1949 the U.S.S.R started to test nuclear weapons.

The US wanted peace, the USSR was a threat to world peace. 2) The USSR started testing nuclear weapons. Russia wanted to become the #1 world power. This was a threat to the US. 3) As the US was threatened by the USSR, the US secretly planned a nuclear attack the USSR. This also lead to the Cold War.

First, Soviet Forces blockaded Berlin preventing relief supplies reaching the citizens of Berlin and U.S. soldiers within the borders of Berlin. Second, the Soviet Union sought to expand their communist empire across Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. While communist revolutions took place in these regions the Soviet's were supporters and supplied these radical groups, even overthrowing the nationalist government of China. Finally with the Soviet's acquiring nuclear weapons the United States was now forced to create a possible plan to stop the further spread of communism into Western Europe, Latin America and South America. Thus the two super powers formed spheres of influence and were forced to prepare to defend their allies and the newly freed colonies of European empires that were favoring their sides.
prior to the cole war there were many conflicts leading up to the war. majority of people belive the cold war was all russias fault and we were playing defense. America was not as innocent as looked upon in 1945 american was secretly planning a nuclear attack on russia while they didnt even know we had atomic bombs while we were allies. the us also changed ther emind and isolating russia after they agreed the soviet union would have sphere of influence. the us also tryed to turn down russias choice of government in communism
